FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 7.5 x 5 inches. 102 + [1] pp. Bound in original green cloth with black titles, in unclipped pictorial dust wrapper, with author biography on front inside wrapper and minor edge wear to head and tail of spine, which is sunned as are wrapper edges. Slight sunning of edges and some foxing of fore edge; otherwise a very good copy. Signed by author on half title, 1969. Short novel, based on author's later life in Ludlow, published locally. Donald Herbert Barber (1907-71), journalist and author, a prolific contributor to Punch, 1932-53, and writer of over five hundred scripts for BBC religious broadcasting. He retired to Ludlow in 1960 and began writing his locally based books, with David's Day of Glory, which preceded this title.
