FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 7.75 x 5.25 inches. 112 + [8] pp. + [4] pp. publisher's advertisements. Bound in original red cloth, gilt, with gilt block on front board. Rough cut edges. Spine sunned, a fee water stains on rear board and foxing of flyleaves, edges and margins; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 16 plates of black ink drawings, including frontispiece and by title page vignette border. Illustrated assessment of the artist, Aubrey Beardsley (1872-98) by Robert Ross (1869-1918), journalist, art critic and friend, lover and literary executor of Oscar Wilde. It includes a list of drawings by Beardsley, compiled by the artist, Aymer Vallance (1862-1943) and of volumes containing illustrations by the artist.
