8vo. 8.25 x 5.75 inches. 181 pp. Bound in original orange cloth, gilt, in dust wrapper, which has sunned spine with edge split, loss at head and tail of spine and edge darkening. Top edge red. Boards have minor wear and lower edge a little foxed; otherwise a very good clean copy. Illustrated by 7 black and white plates, including self portrait frontispiece and by 2 town plans in text. Decorated by title page vignette by Gill and publisher's device on verso of title. COPY LACKS PLATE, p.208. Autobiography of Eric Gill (1822-1940), artist, author and typeface designer. Reprint of first edition published in 1940. This copy lacks one of the plates.
