FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 8.75 x 6.25 inches. xii + 410 pp. + [2] pp. series list and reviews. Bound in original green buckram, gilt, in pictorial non-clipped dust wrapper, which has edge wear, including chips at head and tail of spine. Some foxing of page edge and sellotape marks on flyleaves, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 16 colour, 48 black and white pages of plates and by 92 text figures.
