A little wear to extremities, spine dulled and rear flyleaf foxed; otherwise a very good copy. Signature on first free endpaper. Decorated by title page vignette and book club device on verso of title. Selected poems from the author's previous translations published earlier. Arthur Waley (1889-1966) was an orientalist and sinologist, who was a notable translator of Chinese poetry and also had links with the Bloomsbury Group. First edition published 1946.
