Extremities worn with some loss at head and tail of spine which is sunned with adjacent wrapper. Scattered foxing, including edges, but otherwise a good copy. Eliza, first published in 1900, was a humorous work of fiction, which was followed by four later novels featuring Eliza and her family. A bestselling work by Barry Eric Odell Pain (1864-1928). The author was associated with a movement known as the 'new humour,' a movement relating to writers of working class origin as was Barry Pain, although in his case he did receive a public school and University of Cambridge education. A surviving copy of a popular paperback from the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
