8vo. 8.25 x 5 inches. 115 pp. Bound in original green cloth, gilt, in price clipped pictorial dust wrapper, which has edge wear, including head and tail of spine and small stains on rear wrapper with publisher's advertisements, continued on rear inside flap. Extremities slightly worn with a few small stains and flyleaves browned and with sellotape marks; otherwise a very good copy. A play by John Osborne (1929-94) first performed at the Royal Court Theatre in 1964 with Nicol Williamson in the lead role. In concerns a solicitor who has come to hate his entire life and who imagines a trial in which he is tried for his numerous misdemeanours. Second impression of the first edition in the same year of publication.
