8vo. 7.5 x 5.25 inches. [vi] + [ii] + 311 pp. + [15] pp. publisher's catalogue. Bound in original dark green cloth, gilt, with black block on front board. Patterned endpapers. Extremities a little worn with slight damp cockling. Hinges just starting to crack and occasional scattered foxing; otherwise a very good copy. 1889 signature on first free endpaper. Illustrated by folding map frontispiece in outline colour and by 16 black and white plates. An early illustrated edition of Stevenson's well known novel first published in i886, also by Cassell.
