A full and well illustrated history of Morden College, Blackheath. It was founded by the Levant Company and East India Company merchant, Sir John Morden (1623-1708) in 1695, and built 1695-1700, to a design attributed to Sir Christopher Wren, as a home for elderly and decayed merchants, the only such institution of its kind in the country. Since 1884 it has been administered by the Court of Aldermen of the City of London. A full list of Trustees and Officers is given in an appendix.
