8vo. 8.25 x 5 inches. Unpaginated. [54] + [1] pp. publisher's list. Bound in original cream boards, gilt, in unclipped pictorial dust wrapper, with has loss at tail of spine, which is sunned. A little wear and staining of boards and occasional light foxing; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 25 tipped in photographic images on matte paper, captioned on opposite pages. A collection of photographic images of the author, Robert Louis Stevenson, relating to the people and places associated with him. Subjects include family portraits and scenes from his holiday home at Swanston by the Pentland Hills, of Vailima, Apia, Samoa and of cruising on schooners in the Pacific. A scarce title with the wrapper in the photographic format.
