Minor wear to lower board edges and some creasing of lower corners of about 25 pages at the end; otherwise a very good clean copy. Illustrated by 32 pages of colour photograph plates, by text figures, including maps and by numerous margin drawings. Coloured relief map endpapers. Comprehensive study of the natural history and wildlife of the South Atlantic islands of St Helena and Ascension, which contrasts the older St Helena with the much younger Ascension.
