FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 8.5 x 5.75 inches. 106 pp. Bound in original green cloth, gilt, in unclipped dust wrapper, which has small edge chips at head and tail of sunned spine. Rough cut fore edge. Slight sunning of boards and occasional scattered foxing; otherwise a very good copy. 1945 gift inscription on front pastedown. First edition of new poems by Walter de la Mare (1873-1956). Including revisions of some earlier poems and reprinting others from periodicals, it was the first volume of new verse to be published since 1938.
