4to. 10.75 x 8.75 inches. xv + i] + 301 + [1] + [2] pp. publisher's advertisements. Bound in cream cloth, gilt, with gilt blocks and green decorative borders. Board edges bevelled, top edge gilt, the other two deckled. Extremities worn, including corners, edges and head and tail of spine, and stained with sunned spine; otherwise a very good copy with clean interior. Library label neatly removed from first free endpaper. Illustrated by 92 plates of sketches and paintings in black and white and colour, including frontispiece, protected by captioned tissue guards. Large print limited edition of The Holy Land, a title in the A. and C. Black colour books, first published in 1902. A survey of Palestine and its inhabitants. Text by Rev. John Kelman (1864-1929), with illustrations by the artist, John Fulleylove, R. I. (1844-1908), who travelled widely abroad (Inman 239).
