A little wear to extremities, including corners and head and tail of spine, which is sunned with a crease and a few small stains. Edges slightly browned; otherwise a very good copy. Ex-library copy with stamp on rear pastedown. Illustrated by frontispiece and 16 pages of photographic plates, by two sketches in plate and by map. Decorated by half title vignette and by publisher's device on title page. The personal narrative of a Medical Officer, who worked mainly in the Southern Sudan for twenty years from 1924, by Alexander Cruickshank (1900-1991). The physician relates his treatment of the people of the Dinka, Zande and Nuer tribes.
