8vo. 8.75 x 6 inches. xvi + 246 pp. Bound in original green cloth with yellow titles and green decorative lines, in price clipped pictorial dust wrapper which has been neatly repaired at head and tail of spine. A little browning of flyleaves and foxing of fore edge, but otherwise a very good copy, Illustrated by 350 pages of black and white photographic plates, including frontispiece and by 3 text figures Decorated by publisher's device on verso of half title. One of the classic texts of the famous gardener and garden writer, Gertrude Jekyll (1843-1932). The first edition was published 1901. Scarce in dust wrapper.
